I like this because we often simply gloss over what the very basic, day-to-day steps are that are required to allow innovation to thrive in an organization. As the article points out, most organizations are by structure obstacles to supporting innovation on a regular basis. They have to be. So, it is incumbent upon us as leaders to find the vehicles, processes and resources that foster a healthy tension between organizational stability and innovation.
